About Duchesse de Nemours Peony
Originating in 1856, heirloom Paeonia Lactiflora Duchesse de Nemours Peony remains an aristocrat in the field. Free-flowering and deliciously scented, its crown-shaped, fully double flowers feature creamy-white petals kissed by a hint of yellow. At 5-inch (12 cm) across, the flowers are celebrated as some of the finest double whites introduced, earning it the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
Peonies evoke nostalgia with their lush foliage, voluptuous blooms and sweet, delicate fragrance. Whether as a striking centerpiece or border clusters, these plants add enduring charm to any setting. Harvested at the bud or "soft marshmallow" stage, Peonies offer over a week's vase life, making a delightful addition to floral arrangements.
A perennial classics, Peonies bloom reliably in early June, unfazed by weather due to their durability. Though they might take up to two years to flower after planting, once established, they need minimal care and thrive for generations.
