About Gladiolus Callianthus Murielae
Gladiolus Callianthus Murielae is a true summer garden showstopper. With a graceful, airy look, the white, star-shaped blossoms, each adorned with a striking purple heart, resemble miniature orchids. Enveloped by neat sword-like foliage, the cluster of flowers bloom one at a time along arching stems similar to its cousin the Gladiolus. No wonder it's a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit winner.
Easy to grow, these blooms exude a sweet jasmine-like fragrance that reaches its peak in the evening, lending an enchanting touch to moonlit gardens. With a slender form they truly shine when grouped in clusters of five or more, or when artfully scattered amid borders or meadows beckoning butterflies and an array of other pollinators from August to the first frost.
This plant is also known as: Acidanthera, Abyssinian Gladiolus, Fragrant Gladiolus, Sword Lily and Peacock Orchid.
