About Gladiolus Rainbow Assorted

This large flowering Gladiolus Rainbow Assortment will grace your summer garden with a stunning kaleidoscope of colours in pink, purple, burgundy, salmon, orange, yellow and cream.

The striking 4-inch (10 cm) florets, numbering a dozen or more, elegantly adorn strong, towering 5 foot stems and pointed sword-like leaves. Gladioli, commonly known as 'Glads', create a striking focal point in flower borders and containers, captivating both butterflies and hummingbirds. To enjoy the blooms for many weeks through July and August, plant corms at two week intervals from early spring until the end of June.

With a long vase life, Glads make for excellent cut flowers, adding vertical intrigue to indoor arrangement.

How to Grow Gladiolus

Planting Gladiolus

  • Plant in spring after the last frost.
  • If you cannot plant your bulbs and perennials right away, store them in a cool, dry, dark location, like a basement.
  • Plant them with the pointy end up in a sunny to semi-shaded area about 13 cm (5 in) deep and 13 to 15 cm (5 to 6 in) apart.
  • Water thoroughly after planting.

Growing Gladiolus

  • Plant Gladioli at biweekly intervals for continuous colour.
  • These bulbs do best in well-drained soil.
  • Gladioli will bloom in 60 to 80 days.
  • Shelter from strong winds.

Gladiolus Care

  • These bulbs are very easy and do not need much fertilizer.
  • Gladioli bloom from the bottom up and they last a long time, about 2 weeks.
  • Stake taller varieties.

Winterizing Gladiolus

  • These bulbs are not winter hardy and need to be dug up after the first frost.
  • Do not wash but dry the bulbs for a day.
  • After you dry the bulbs, place in a paper bag.
  • Store them in a dark and cool location.

Hi question why when i buy glad bulbs in assorted colors do i usually get the 90% one color and may 10% another color. 2 years in a row the same thing?

Hello Susan, that is odd but I will definitely bring that up to our operations manager. Perhaps there is something going on in production that he needs to correct for next year.

We bought a bag of assorted gladiolus bulbs from Costco in early spring. They are now coming up, but are all the same colour with the exception of 1. Is this normal for an assorted bag?

Thank you for your interest in our products. They may look similar but please be advised that it is a random assortment so not all of the colors will be in the package.

Greetings! 🌼 We are thrilled to hear from you, though we are truly sorry that your recent purchase didn't quite meet your expectations. [Bulbs are living products, and their condition can change during storage and transit.] Either way, not to worry – we are here to help to set things right.

To lend a hand in resolving this, we kindly ask for a couple things:
