About Muscari Armeniacum Assorted (Grape Hyacinth)

Muscari Armeniacum Assorted

How to Grow Muscari

Planting Muscari

  • Plant these bulbs in fall.
  • If you cannot plant your bulbs right away store them in a cool, dry, dark location, like a basement.
  • Plant them with the pointy end up in a sunny to semi-shaded area about 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 in) deep and 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 in) apart.
  • Water thoroughly after planting.

Growing Muscari

  • These bulbs do best in well-drained soil.
  • These bulbs are suitable for almost every possible application: fields, beds, containers, borders, rock gardens and as cut flowers.
  • These bulbs look good planted in groups at the base of trees or in wooded areas.
  • Plant in groups of fifteen or more bulbs which then appear more natural.

Muscari Care

  • These bulbs are deer resistant and work great in areas where deer or rodents are a problem.
  • Fertilize just before they start blooming.

Winterizing Muscari

  • After flowering, the leaves should be allowed to die down. The leaves will gather sunlight and provide nourishment for next year’s show.
  • It is helpful to fertilize the bulbs through winter and also as the foliage dies down in summer.
