About Paperwhites Narcissus Ziva

Paperwhite Narcissus Ziva stands out as an effortless indoor bulb to cultivate. Whether planted in soil or placed in a vase with pebbles and water, these bulbs, especially when paired with Amaryllis for a striking visual contrast, rarely disappoint.

Paperwhites, also known as Narcissus (Daffodil) Tazetta Papyraceous, are known for their brilliant sunlit-white flowers clustered atop of their stems, exuding a delicate, sweet fragrance.

An enduring winter favourite, Paperwhites effortlessly illuminate homes or make thoughtful gifts, with up to three stems per bulb flowers bloom within 4-6 weeks, perfectly timed for the holiday season.

How to Grow Narcissus

Planting Narcissus

  • Plant these bulbs in fall.
  • If you cannot plant your bulbs right away store them in a cool, dry, dark location, like a basement.
  • Plant them with the pointy end up in a sunny to semi-shaded area about 15 cm (6 in) deep and 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) apart.
  • Water thoroughly after planting.

Growing Narcissus

  • These bulbs do best in well-drained soil.
  • These bulbs are suitable for almost every possible application: fields, beds, containers, borders, rock gardens, as cut flowers and for forcing.
  • These bulbs look good planted in groups at the base of trees or in wooded areas.
  • Plant in groups of eight or more bulbs which then appear more natural.

Narcissus Care

  • These bulbs are deer resistant and work great in areas where deer or rodents are a problem.
  • Fertilize just before they start blooming.
  • Remove the flowers when they are spent. Otherwise the plant will divert energy from building up the bulb, which is necessary for next year’s display.

Winterizing Narcissus

  • After flowering, the leaves should be allowed to die down. The leaves will gather sunlight and provide nourishment for next year’s show.
  • These bulbs come back for several years.
